The Salt Lake County District Attorneys office has ruled, officers were justified in the fatal shooting of a man in Salt Lake, last month.
D.A. Sim Gill wrote, officers were reasonable in assuming their lives were in danger, when Ronnie Ontiveros, 37, fired at them.
Police were trying to locate a fugitive, when Ontiveros was seen in a car, sitting next to a man who appeared to be the fugitive they wanted.
When Ontiveros saw police, authorities say he attempted to flee, firing a gun has he went. Police shot and killed him.
