School Lunches Taken From Students and Thrown Away

Posted Thursday, January 30th 2014 @ 11am  by Talk Radio 105.7 FM / 570 AM

DOZENS OF UINTAH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS -- IN THE SALT LAKE DISTRICT -- WERE SERVED SCHOOL LUNCHES THIS WEEK... ONLY TO HAVE THEM TAKEN AWAY AND THROWN INTO THE GARBAGE.

THE BIZARRE INCIDENT OCCURRED, AFTER THE STUDENTS WERE SERVED LUNCHES, DESPITE NOT HAVING FUNDS -- IN THEIR LUNCH ACCOUNTS -- TO PAY FOR THEM.

PARENTS SAY THEIR KIDS WERE HUMILIATED, IN FRONT OF THEIR PEERS.

AND SOME STATE LAWMAKERS PLANNED TO EAT AT THE SCHOOL, AND SPEAK WITH ADMINISTRATORS ABOUT THEIR POLICY.

THE KIDS WERE GIVEN FRUIT AND MILK TO REPLACE THE LUNCHES.

DISTRICT POLICY REQUIRED THE SERVED MEALS TO BE THROWN OUT.
