Two Cyclists Killed While Riding to Work

LEHI POLICE ARE CONTINUING TO INVESTIGATE THE DEATHS OF TWO BIKE RIDERS -- EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING -- WHO WERE COMMUTING FROM THEIR SALT LAKE COUNTY HOMES, TO JOBS IN UTAH COUNTY.

THE FATAL ACCIDENT OCCURRED WHEN THE 35- AND 39-YEAR-OLD MEN, TURNED IN FRONT OF A TRUCK -- DRIVEN BY A 41-YEAR-OLD MAN -- NORTHBOUND ON REDWOOD ROAD, AT 21ST NORTH.

LEHI POLICE LT. DARREN PAUL SAYS, THE VICTIMS WERE KILLED INSTANTLY... AND THE VEHICLE DISABLED.

POLICE AREN'T YET REVEALING THE VICTIMS' NAMES, BUT SAY THEY ARE FROM HERRIMAN AND RIVERTON.

THE TRUCK DRIVER WAS TREATED FOR MINOR INJURIES AND RELEASED.

HE IS NOT EXPECTED TO FACE CHARGES, THOUGH THE INVESTIGATION IS CONTINUING.

A PORTION OF REDWOOD ROAD WAS CLOSED FOR ABOUT FOUR HOURS.
