You've likely heard the story that kids at Uintah Elementary had their lunches dumped in the trash after school officials realized their parents hadn't paid their accounts current. Story here
After the fallout, the Salt Lake City School District is considering hiring a PR firm for $49,999, a dollar short of needing board approval for such a hire.
Here's a better PR move: use the near $50k to help students get their accounts up-to-date or other student friendly moves (anti-bullying or stop text and driving campaign).
